Charles Barkley announced recently that he was done with broadcasting and sports analyzing after an abrupt decision to quit the Turner company after having worked there for almost 25 years.

When speaking at the "Closing Bell" on Thursday, Barkley confessed "I wouldn't feel comfortable going to work for another network, It'll be 25 years that I've been working with Turner, and I love everybody at Turner. But at this age, to go over and start over, I don't know if I want to do that."
After talking about the decision-making process for his second retirement, the show hosts asked him if the problem was money, however, Barkley quickly shut down the question "If I don't have enough money by now, I'm the biggest loser in the world," he joked.
Barkley first spoke about his retirement in Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks, he said that the 2024-2025 season would be his last.
When asked about what was next for the TNT basketball analysis team, Barkley remorsefully said "I really feel bad for everybody at TNT - all the people I've been working with for the last 24 years, they're like family to me," Barkley elaborated "I honestly, in my heart, I think we have lost the package. This is my honest opinion. But I really hope we get a last-minute reprieve for the people at Turner."

Charles Barkley had great chemistry with TNT host Ernie Johnson and all the fans of "Inside the NBA" could attest, and ever since the year 2000 they always had an informed opinion.
There is no news of who will replace Charles Barkley in the show, but one thing is clear, whoever lands the job will have big shoes to fill.
