Shannon Jackson steps away from social media as Anthony Edwards stumbles in playoffs: digital absences and on-court defeats

Anthony Edwards was not the only one to disappear after the Minnesota Timberwolves' first loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. While the team fell 114-88 and Edwards had a discreet performance with 18 points, nine rebounds and three assists (and a worrying -23 in plus-minus), his partner Shannon Jackson again deleted her social media.

Shannon Jackson and her 'protagonism'

Jackson, formerly known as Jeanine Robel and the mother of his daughter Aislynn, had already deleted her Instagram during the first round of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Lakers. At the time, her departure was interpreted as an attempt to stay out of the media spotlight, but her return weeks later was just as loud: she reappeared with an emotional TikTok, showing images with her daughter ing Edwards on the court, dressed in custom denim outfits. The voiceover in the video offered a personal reflection on growth, healing and the decision to prioritize oneself: "I want what's best for me. I don't care who I disappoint in the process."

Despite his momentary return and the he showed in the series against the Warriors - even accompanying Edwards in away games - he has now disappeared again, deleting both his Instagram and TikTok. Although the reason for this has not been clarified, the timing with the Timberwolves' Game 1 loss and Edwards' sub-standard performance has sparked speculation.

Shannon and Anthony's relationship has been of interest throughout the season. Although they have maintained a united public image, Jackson's digital silence has coincided with high-pressure stages in her partner's career. Her presence on social media had also been a way to show , wearing multiple custom outfits with the team's colors and symbols, which contrasted with her current silence.

Edwards keeps doing his thing

Edwards has remained active on social media. His Instagram , @theanthonyedwards_, continues to share promotional content, including the recent episode of his series Underdog: Year Five, as well as his traditional tributes to his late mother and grandmother with the message "DIFM2"

While the Timberwolves try to climb up the standings, the off-court narrative is also drawing attention. Shannon Jackson has not only been a constant figure in Edwards' environment, but also a voice that - through her posts - has revealed her own personal process of evolution, introspection and, in her words, "eliminating toxicity".
