The New York Liberty took a decisive 80-77 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Wednesday, grabbing a 2-1 lead in the WNBA Finals and moving within a game of their first championship. After dropping the opening match of the series, the Liberty have bounced back with two straight victories, putting them on the brink of a historic achievement.
Breanna Stewart was pivotal in the win, leading the team with 30 points and 11 rebounds. However, it was Sabrina Ionescu who delivered the game's defining moment.
With the clock winding down, Ionescu nailed a step-back three-pointer that secured the win for New York, leaving the Minnesota crowd stunned. Despite one second remaining, the Lynx couldn't capitalize, and the Liberty escaped with the win.
Ionescu's clutch shot caught the attention of fans and fellow athletes, including NBA star Luka Doncic, who took to social media to express his iration.
