It wasn't long ago that Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz was on a sharp rise to stardom. His tough fighting style and power made him a must-watch heading into a mega-fight against Gervonta "Tank" Davis.

Davis ended up winning by unanimous decision and defended his WBA lightweight title, while Cruz lost some of his luster. But with another world title fight looming against Rolly Romero, Cruz is ready to make a statement once again.

Isaac Cruz says he'll knock out Rolly Romero

And he's definitely confident, as he's fully expecting to knock out Romero. He spoke to FightHubTV for an interview following the fight's introductory press conference.

He doesn't worry me, I'm just preparing to hit him. We've been training so that any punch that lands will be the one to knock him out.

Isaac Cruz is unfazed by Ryan Garcia's comments

Cruz was later asked about Ryan Garcia trash-talking hima bit in a recent interview. Garcia had mentioned that he "always wanted to beat his ass for a long time". The Mexican wasn't too bothered by it.

Ryan is a boxer who doesn't know where his career is headed due to his issues with Golden Boy... we didn't hesitate when presented with the opportunity to fight Rolly.

When asked about a potential fight against Garcia after Romero, or a rematch against Tank Davis, Cruz says he'll fight anyone who wants to fight with him and that he won't "chase" anyone.

Cruz heads into the Romero fight with a 25-2-1 record, having lost only to Davis and Luis Miguel Montaño back in 2016. Three straight wins have put him right back on track for a world title shot and more.
