Boxing fans were shocked when they saw Tramaine Williams, a former world challenger, experience a distressing incident during a match against Ryan Allen. A viral clip shows the 31-year-old Williams stopping mid-action and collapsing.

The precise cause is unclear, but Canadian lawyer and boxing safety advocate Erik Magraken has suggested that the Team Combat League (TCL) might be at fault.

Magraken posted the video of Williams collapsing on his social media, calling for stricter regulations and oversight within TCL. He questioned whether regulators would investigate, referring to a previous tragic incident involving heavyweight boxer Ardi Ndembo.

Sparked controversy

Ndembo, who competed for TCL in April, was knocked out in 57 seconds and subsequently placed in an induced coma. He ed away after three weeks in the hospital.

Controversy arose because Ndembo had been knocked out twice during sparring the week before his fight, yet the bout proceeded as scheduled.

The incident with Williams has reignited concerns about TCL's management and commitment to boxer safety. Magraken's tweet underscores the need for enhanced oversight and protection for fighters, given the history of serious injuries and fatalities associated with the league.

Fans have expressed their shock and concern for Williams in the comments on Magraken's post. One experienced boxing enthusiast noted that Williams' collapse was unlike any other he had seen.

Williams was participating in the NTC Attitude vs. Las Vegas Hustle event, which featured 24 three-minute rounds with boxers competing in single-round showdowns.
