Jake Paul made his long-awaited return to the boxing ring on Saturday night, facing Mike Perry, who was replacing Mike Tyson on the original July 20 date that Paul and Iron Mike were supposed to fight on.
Being the showman that he is, Paul arrived to the arena with a set planned entrance. Suffice to say, it was a show-stopper, but a lot of fans called it "cringe".
Jake Paul's entrance featured a human-sized body spray
Paul arrived in a giant-sized shopping cart. He was standing in it behind a person in a costume of a bottle of body spray. To unravel the mystery: W By Jake Paul is a line of "vitamin infused body care" products. It's another side hustle of Paul's, so of course he had to rep his brand.
Fans on social media definitely weren't fond of the whole ordeal, though. On DAZN Boxing's video post of the entrance, many were slamming Paul for it.
- "I think "cringe" is overused but holy cringe"
- "Is this a joke"
- "Who watches this trash"
- "Absolute moron"
Paul may think he was doing something with the entrance, but it did not play well with any viewers. Still, he got his side project a good amount of publicity, which was always the point.
