Mexican-American fighter Andy Ruiz Jr. will return to the ring this Saturday against Jarrell Miller, which will be the last bout before the fight between Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov, looking to continue his good streak and confirm himself again as a contender for the heavyweight belts.

However, extra sporting issues seem to be the most talked about Ruiz before his fight, as recently his ex-girlfriend, Julia Lemus, accused him of domestic violence and other crimes, and obtained a restraining order against the fighter.

In the documents filed with a San Diego judge seeking the restraining order, Lemus argued that the boxer 'sexually, physically and psychologically abused me, making me feel like I had to walk on eggshells around him. I fear for my life and safety and the life and safety of my children'.

This restraining order was granted in April of this year, which is valid for three years and can be renewed after that period, with the boxer denying the accusations of his ex-partner, whom he accuses of having stolen around $250,000 from him.

According to Julia's version, in early 2023, Ruiz pointed an AK-47 rifle at her, so she began to fear for her life. "He told me to shut up and then I noticed that the guns had no bullets, so he began to tell me that I was being very dramatic," Lemus detailed in her complaint.

Things got worse in February of this year, as the young woman claims that Ruiz raped her on at least six occasions, facts that she reported to the San Diego Police Department, who approved a restraining order against the fighter. Allegedly, the abuses would have started since 2019.
