While preparing for his boxing encounter, it was Terence Crawford thinking about his career and what he has done and what he is still to do. To many he can to much more, like an appearance in the final three remaining in an Olympic tournament.
Well, it seems he is not very much interested in that. He spoke with TMZ Sports and the undefeated champion seems to be ok with the fact that he has not won hardware of that type, specially with the Paris Olympics at full display in Europe.
It is true that he can no longer participate in Olympics Games because he is a professional boxer, he could have done so back when he was younger. He seems to have put that itch in the past and no longer has a thought about that, and he is honest saying that he never really had it.
Never had it in mind whatsoever
Terence Crawford has 40 professional wins in as many boxing fights, 31 of those fights have been by a knockout. Would the fact that he competed in an Olympic tournament slowed down his professional career? Maybe but still it was never a desire of his to be part of that competition.
"The Olympics was never in my dream," the 36-year-old said. "Never was my dream to be an Olympic gold medalist. My dream was always to be a world champion, so my dream came true."
Crawford is ready to continue his story when this Saturday he faces champion Israil Madrimov at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. It will be the first-ever Riyadh Season event in the U.S. "I'm always hearing this is gonna be my toughest match, every fight, I won't know until I get in the ring with him."
