- Boxing. Terence Crawford 'challenges' Canelo Alvarez: If the money is right, we fight
- Boxing. Terence Crawford reaches 41-0 and a new belt in extremely difficult bout v Israil Madrimov
Ryan Garcia may be banned from boxing but that does not mean he intends to go quietly as he rips into Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz after the Mexican was beaten in his WBA super-lightweight contest on Terence Crawford's undercard.
It was a strange contest in which Jose Valenzuela seemed to be convincingly better and with a unanimous decision in his favor seeming certain, fans were shocked when one judged called it 113-155 to Cruz.
However, he still got the win via split decision with the other two judges calling it a far more reasonable 116-112 and Garcia was absolutely not convinced by Cruz's performance as he slammed him on social media.
"Pitbull you didn't do s**t," Garcia posted to X.com, formerly Twitter. "Stop talking like you did.
"You just have a big a** head that throws hook and hooks. F**K you puppet."
Cruz demands Valenzuela rematch
The defeat was the third of the 26-year-old Cruz's career, leaving the Mexican with a 30-3-1 record (18 KOs) since his professional debut against Luis Yan Revilla in March 2015.
And Cruz had only held the title since March 2024 yet now he has hand to hand over the belt to Valenzuela but there is salt in the air and bitterness too as he seemingly accused the judges of bias and demands a rematch.
"I'm not going to say anything, the public is the best judge," Cruz said to media post-fight at the BMO Stadium. "I just want to thank Turki Al-Sheikh for giving me the opportunity, my spouse and my family who are ing me.
"I never doubted myself, I came to do my job, I came to give a good fight and the people are the best judges. I don't know what one of the judges saw, but we came to put up a great fight.
I totally [deserve a rematch]. Here I am ready for the direct rematch, we officially ask for it in front of these people. Lightning, give me the revenge."
