Sheikh Turki Alalshikh continues his series of statements against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, this time questioning his ego to face a fight against Terence Crawford.

Canelo Alvarez mocks Turki Al-Sheikh

During an interview in Las Vegas with Fight Hub TV during a Riyadh Season promotion, the sheikh explained in depth the controversy after failing in his attempt to organise the fight between Canelo and Terence Crawford, and insinuated that the 'ego' of the Mexican is very big, so he invited him to reflect instead of taking his words as a personal attack.

"If he (Canelo Alvarez) is a wise guy, he will get the message. If he is wise, he will understand, but if his ego gets the better of him, let him do things his way."

Sheikh says Saul Alvarez started war of declarations

Alalshikh, assured that he was not the one who started the 'verbal confrontation', where he mentioned that Canelo only likes easy fights, as this was just a response to what was originally stated by the boxer, who said that negotiations for fights are done his way.

"I wasn't the one who started talking about these things, he was the one who started talking about these things. He said he respects me, but he doesn't like the things I'm doing in boxing. That's why I said what I said, and I really mean it."

Sheikh spoke about whether the whole misunderstanding between the two characters was due to a failure to communicate with the middlemen, as he was never able to have a personal conversation with Alvarez before receiving a refusal from him. "If other promoters spoke to him (Canelo Alvarez) in a disrespectful way, that's between him and the promoter. It's not with me. But he responded to me."
