Conor McGregor has made a public plea for a rematch between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois following Joshua's shocking knockout loss to his fellow Briton.

The heavyweight clash, which saw Dubois dominate and finish Joshua in the fifth round, left a massive crowd of 96,000 at Wembley Stadium in disbelief.

Dubois showcased his power and aggression, knocking Joshua down multiple times before delivering the final blow.

The victory has solidified Dubois' reputation as a serious force in the heavyweight division, but McGregor believes the two fighters should go head-to-head again.

McGregor, who was in attendance at the fight, has shared his opinion that the matchup was more competitive than it seemed, pointing to moments where Joshua had the chance to turn the tide.

In a recent Kick live stream, McGregor noted that Joshua had some strong sequences but was ultimately caught by a decisive shot.

The UFC fighter even offered some advice to Joshua, suggesting that he focus on standing his ground and leveraging his strong jab in a potential rematch.

McGregor's appeal was directed to Turki Alalshikh, the organizer of Riyadh Season, urging him to arrange a second fight between the two heavyweights.

"Sometimes you get fed up; you might get a little bit tired at some," McGregor said. "Joshua was almost at that stage.

"Make no mistake, the only thing what should happen next is doing Joshua and Dubois as a rematch, yeah. And stand the ground.

"Don't even go forward; don't even go back. Stand your ground and knee. Joshua has a good, strong jab; he almost came back, and he did hold him in that before he got caught with the shot.

"That's a fight between two very evenly matched fighters that have just put on a spectacle for us all.

"And from the 96,000 screaming fans, on behalf of Riyadh Season and Turki Alalshikh, do that again. For real, do that again."

Eddie Hearn Hints at Rematch

Echoing McGregor's sentiments, renowned boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has hinted that Joshua is likely to seek revenge against Dubois.

In a recent interview with Stomping Grounds, Hearn emphasized that Joshua is not considering retirement and still has a long career ahead of him.

He mentioned that a rematch with Dubois is on the cards, as Joshua's camp has a rematch clause in place.

Hearn dismissed the rumors of Joshua's retirement, reinforcing that the former champion is eager to prove that the knockout was a mere fluke and that he still belongs at the top of the heavyweight division.

Dubois' convincing win over Joshua has made waves in the boxing world, but with both McGregor and Hearn advocating for a rematch, it seems that the story between these two fighters is far from over.

Fans will eagerly await further developments, as Joshua seeks to reclaim his standing and Dubois solidifies his reputation as a heavyweight contender.
