- Boxing. Mike Tyson and Jake Paul take their fight outside the ring into the business world
It's not for nothing that he was once called "The Baddest Man of the Planet." Mike Tyson won 44 of his 58 fights by knockout, 24 in the first round. Now, the former world champion has the influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul in his sights and made it clear that his intentions are not good.
Tyson was one of the most feared boxers in the 90s and 2000s. Among his many feats, the former undisputed heavyweight champion has one of the fastest knockouts in history, having knocked down Marvis Frazier 30 seconds into their 1986 fight.
Also, Tyson faced and beat some of the best in history, such as Larry Holmes, Buster Douglas, Tony Tubbs, and Michael Spinks. His fight against Pinklon Thomas in 1987 is ed as one of the most brutal in history, and yet, "Iron Mike" came out with his arm raised with a knockout in the sixth round.
Now, at 58 years old and 20 years after his last official combat, Tyson has a fight on the horizon against an opponent 30 years younger and with an upward trajectory in boxing. Far from being worried, Tyson launched a worrying threat to his young rival.
Mike Tyson's is up to no good
In recent statements to FOX4, Tyson brought out his fiercest side, making it clear that he will have no mercy on his opponent. "I'm going in there with bad intentions. My intention is to hurt this young man."
Furthermore, he predicted that Paulwould not have the courage to put up a decent fight. "[The fight will be] not long, because as soon as I catch him he's gonna run like a thief," Tyson said, and finished, "I don't see how he's gonna make an exciting fight by running all day."
True to form, the former champion challenged Paul to stand in the ring and exchange blows with him, saying, "He's supposed to be the young guy, he's supposed to walk right through me, I'm an old man."
Mike is an entirely different beast
Tired of criticism for returning to the ring at almost 60 years old, Tyson said his not a regular 60-year old. "You can't compare me with other people my age because the other people my age haven't been training as long as me, as consistent as me."
The former champion confirmed what many of his fans have long believed, saying, "I'm just a different species of human being."
Fans and Tyson himself will find out if that's true on Nov. 15, when the former champion faces Paul at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in one of the most anticipated fights of the year.
