Gervonta "Tank" Davis may be one of boxing's biggest stars, but his recent fight against Lamont Roach had fans talking about more than just his performance in the ring. Instead of a knockout or a controversial decision, it was Davis' hair product that took center stage.

During the ninth round of the match in New York, Davis unexpectedly dropped to one knee before rushing to his corner, urgently requesting a towel for his eyes.

Hair oil had leaked into them, impairing his vision. The bizarre moment led to an outcry from fans and boxing analysts, with some arguing that Davis should have been penalized for taking an unforced knee.

A hair solution from an unexpected source

As the controversy continues, one well-known hair product company has stepped forward with a solution. Murray's Pomade, a staple in the grooming industry for nearly a century, is now publicly urging Davis to switch to its product to prevent any future "greasy ring drama."

Speaking to TMZ Sports, a representative for the brand explained why their product would have helped Davis avoid the incident altogether.

"Murray's Original Pomade, celebrating its 100th year, it's very thick and waxy and would not drip in those conditions," the spokesperson stated.

"He should have used our product and would not have worried 'bout his do."

Murray's Pomade, known for its strong hold and classic formulation, has been a trusted hair product for decades, particularly in the African American community.

Unlike some oil-based products that can become runny under heat or sweat, Murray's is designed to stay put-something that could have potentially saved Davis from his in-ring mishap.

The fight's controversy continues

While Davis may want to rethink his hair care routine, his match with Roach remains under scrutiny. The fight ended in a draw, a decision that has been met with backlash.

Roach's attorney has since taken action, sending a formal request to the New York State Athletic Commission to overturn the result in favor of Roach.

Many critics believe Davis should have been penalized for his knee-taking incident, arguing that it influenced the fight's outcome.
