On Wednesday, Valentine's Day, F1 fans were shown the car with which Mercedes will try to dethrone Red Bull.

The W15 will be the single-seater with which Lewis Hamilton will say goodbye to his (glorious) time in the Brackley squad. Then, the '44' will Ferrari with a view to the 2025 season.

The livery of the car is quite different, as the famous silver has gained prominence. But the essential thing is that they have radically changed the concept of the car.

As everyone knows, the W13 and W14 were not single-seaters that gave them victories. In fact, they have only won one race in the last two seasons. And the one that sealed the victory was George Russell at Interlagos (in 2022).

But back to Lewis. He knows that his last dance with the Silver Arrows team will be an emotional campaign.

"I've always loved working with the team," Hamilton said. "I think particularly when there's so many people, it's such a huge team that's in the background.

"It's all about high performance, this machine that we are building and that carries us across the line. Without all of those people in the background working so incredibly hard as they do, we will not ever get to where we need to be.

"So it's great when we all have a common common goal. And we're all focused on that the whole year, so it's a real privilege."

Concept change

Mercedes has abandoned their previous car concept with the W15 and Hamilton lets slip that he is excited about the radical change.

"The focus through the whole winter training is first getting the team back to where we once were," Hamilton added.

"I think we've had this difficult couple of years which has been really grounding for us. It's helped us to regroup, re-look at things and it's now just going through the important process, being really diligent with our work, understanding that data and understanding the car."
