In a thrilling showdown at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, Lando Norris clinched his first-ever victory to send McLaren fans into a joyous celebration.

MARCA had the opportunity to speak with McLaren fans from multiple regions of the United States -- including the Miami area itself. Two fans from Fort Lauderdale told MARCA that Norris' first victory -- snapping Red Bull driver Max Verstappen's run in Miami -- was "awesome," and Verstappen's struggles were a definite "cheering moment" for "most F1 fans."

Verstappen had won the Miami Grand Prix in 2022 and 2023, but the era's most dominant F1 driver was playing catchup after he struck a small traffic post early in the race. Norris took the opportunity to change tires and pull away, eventually winning the race by seven seconds. Verstappen finished second, with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc securing third place and a podium finish.

Norris had raced over 6,000 laps since ing McLaren Racing in 2019, but the British driver's first victory had eluded him at every turn. That all changed on Sunday, as Norris denied Verstappen his third consecutive win at Miami Gardens and brought a smile to the face of every McLaren fan, from Great Britain to Michigan to Alabama.
