Ferrari responds to Red Bull's supposed 'trickery'

Fred Vasseur did not remain silent after the attack on the SF-24 by the team of the energy drink

Ferrari responds to Red Bull's supposed 'trickery'

Ferrari has hit back at Red Bull's accusations of allegedly doing something illegal in its SF-24, who do not understand where they are coming from.

It was Fred Vasseur who wanted to deny these accusations, so he sent a message to the energy drink's team, who claim that the Maranello car is cheating by cooling the tyres, which is not allowed in Formula 1.

The information was released by Auto Motor und Sport, who revealed that Red Bull lodged a complaint against McLaren and Ferrari for allegedly having a 'watering system' that helps lower the temperature of the tyres.

"I don't know where these accusations come from," he told the media, as reported by RacingNews365. "I will not go down that road because one of the team's assets this year is to stay away from all the controversies," he insisted.

For Fred Vasseur, this supposed irrigation system would not make sense: "I don't understand the theory because I think what we're trying to do is remove moisture from everywhere, not add something to the tyres."

Pirelli unaware of Red Bull's claim

On the other hand, Pirelli F1 boss Mario Isola has assured that he has not seen any evidence of interference with the tyres by Formula 1 teams: "I don't see anything strange in the data we have and I have no evidence," he said.

"Now it's up to the FIA to decide what to do and tell us if we can them, because after all the only thing we can do is them," he said of the investigation that Red Bull has requested.

Such attacks from the energy drink team stem from Ferrari's good form in recent races, which saw them displace them from second place in the constructors' championship from the Mexican GP onwards, with three races remaining in the 2024 F1 season.
