One of the most notorious scandals associated with Formula 1 in the modern era is still alive. Christian Horner, head of Red Bull Racing and champion of the last four drivers' titles with Max Verstappen, has seen the lawsuit reopened for inappropriate behaviour that an employee of the energy drink team made public just before last season and seemed to close.

The 'Horner case' will have a sequel after a year without much information on the subject. Most of it was generated just before the 2024 season and the Briton's continuity was in question. A few hours before the start of last season, Red Bull confirmed that Horner would continue after an internal investigation, carried out by a specialist lawyer, in which he was found not guilty. The former driver and director denied all the accusations at all times.

But the case does not seem to end there. According to De Telegraaf, there was an appeal against the first decision and the situation ended up being taken to the UK Labour Court. This is the body that deals with matters between workers and employers, and it is estimated that what happened at Red Bull will be judged in January 2026.

"The British justice system has very long processing times," commented Helmut Marko, another of the team's visible faces, in relation to the process of almost a year that awaits. Although he made it clear that they will work to reach a common point. "I hope that before we can restore calm and reach an agreement to resolve it out of court," he added.

It's a complicated episode in a story that is still far from over, and has always been leaked to the press and points to one of the main voices of the 'Great Circus'. Calm at Red Bull is not coming either on or off the track.
