Beckham predicts Real Madrid will win the Champions League again this year

Former footballer, businessman and philanthropist David Beckham said in London on Monday that Argentine Lionel Messi is, in his opinion, the "best player in the world" and also "of all time" and predicted that this season Real Madrid will win the Champions League.

He did so during a relaxed question-and-answer session in London with Netflix's head of content, Bela Bajaria, as part of the MIP audiovisual fair, where the Inter Miami founder shared anecdotes, memories and confidences about himself and his wife, fashion designer Victoria Beckham.

Among other topics, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United player spoke about the poor season that Pep Guardiola's Manchester City is going through, although he stressed that the former Barcelona coach is "one of the best coaches in the world".

Beckham noted that "every great club goes through moments like this (because of City's performance), when a team loses a player or a new one arrives, the squad can be a little dismembered," but it is a club that has had "incredible success over the years" and this is "one of those seasons."

He also said that London is his "home" although he had words of affection for Manchester, where he excelled with Alex Ferguson's United, and Miami, where he founded his own soccer club, Inter Miami.

"London is my home and Manchester was home for a long time and Miami is kind of my new home," he said.

Since he was a child, he dreamed of being a footballer and representing his country, but he always knew that once his sporting career was over he would not continue to be involved in the sport as a coach, as many of his teammates do, but that he would "do something different."

"I always knew that at some point I would stop playing and start some kind of business, my aspiration was never to be a coach," he recalled
