Patrice Evra and Luis Suárez are embroiled in a rivalry that dates back to their Premier League days, when the Frenchman played for Manchester United and the Uruguayan was a star player for Liverpool.

The feud between them began 14 years ago in 2011, during a match between Liverpool and Manchester United, when a heated controversy erupted after Patrice Evra accused Luis Suárez of hurling racial slurs at him. The incident received widespread media coverage and was investigated by the FA, which concluded that Suárez had acted inappropriately.

As a result, the striker was banned for eight matches and fined. Evra, for his part, stood by his accusation, saying that Suárez's behavior had been unacceptable.

That was not the end of the story between the two players. Their paths crossed again later in the season, during the post-match protocol, when Luis Suárez refused to shake Evra's hand, causing a minor commotion that was quickly resolved by teammates and referees.

They would meet again, this time with Evra playing for a different team, but there were no further unsportsmanlike incidents between the players. However, the situation between them remains tense and when asked about each other, neither holds back.

Evra wants to fight Luis Suárez

Since retiring from football, Patrice Evra has found a new ion: mixed martial arts, better known as MMA.

After extensive training, the 43-year-old Frenchman is ready to start a new chapter. His first appearance will be on May 23rd at a PFL event in Paris. Despite the excitement, his opponent has yet to be confirmed and the search is on for someone willing to take on the challenge.

True to form, the former United player already has someone in mind for his MMA debut.

"I am officially training for my first fight with PFL Europe. They will pick my opponent... They asked me who I wanted to fight. I said: Luis Suárez. I'll pay out of my own pocket. He can even bite me," the former player wrote on his X .
