Messi demands payment of 50,000 euros from Futuro Vegetal for vandalizing his house in Ibiza

Leo Messi is always in the headlines but this time it is not for his work on the field, but because he is trying to get money out of some vandals.

The Argentinean's mansion in Ibiza, valued at more than eleven million euros with a discotheque, gym, spa, swimming pool, paddle tennis, soccer and golf courses and almost 20,000 square meters was totally destroyed by the group of activists who call themselves 'Futuro Vegetal' (Vegetable Future) at the start of August.

Futuro Vegetal shared the video in which they tried to make a point to further their cause, and it could cost them dearly.

In the video, several individuals were seen holding a banner that read "help the planet, eat the rich and abolish the police".

The amount Messi is asking for

The Argentine star is asking for 50,000 euros due to the break-in and vandalizing of his house and from the group have already issued their response.

"This is tempera that goes away with water, a priori that with a hosepipe comes out, at most you have to rub a little. But even in the worst case, even if you had to repaint the facade, it does not cost 50,000 euros," said Bilbo Bassaterra, spokesman for the group that feels the money being asked for is disproportionate.

Futuro Vegetal consider the amount completely out of place and that it is "an initial estimate above the cost" to initiate legal proceedings.

In addition, they recall that Messi's house in Ibiza is illegal, as it was built without a building permit, as Bassaterra has reminded people.

In the coming days, more information about the case will be coming out, in the hope that they can reach an agreement before facing each other in court.
