"As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured," Woods wrote. He went on to explain that Dr. Charlton Stucken at the Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida, performed a minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair surgery. According to Woods, the surgery went smoothly, and his doctor expects a full recovery.
This latest setback adds to the list of challenges that Woods has faced throughout his illustrious career, including multiple back surgeries and a near-fatal car crash in 2021. Fresh off his participation in the inaugural TGL golf league, Woods had been eyeing the Masters next month, where he made history last year by making the cut for the 24th consecutive time.
