This has been some devastating news dropped as of late, as famous actor James Van Der Beek has been battling cancer and also the financial strain of trying to keep up with the bills of his treatment.
Now 47 years old, Van Der Beek was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and to try and gather some of the funds to treat his medical problem, he has encouraged his followers to help in a very unique way.
He posted a story on Instagram in which he invited his followers to orer a football jersey from his 1999 hit movie "Varsity Blues," one that he promised to sign and ship in time for Christmas.
The emotional invitation to help
James Van Der Beek appeared in the promotional images wearing a replica shirt that wore in the movie, one that has the last of his character Jonathan "Mox" Moxon as he was the backup quarterback.
Sadly, he captioned a post "Excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of #VarsityBlues with a limited edition #4 Moxon jersey-each one personally autographed by me," he announced on November. 22.
"100% of my net proceeds will go to families recovering from the financial burden of cancer (including my own)," with an emoji. He recently itted that he has struggled financially after having to deal with the payments of his treatment that as recently made public as well.
