Friends star David Schwimmer has taken aim at Elon Musk and encouraged the X owner to stop allowing Kanye West to put hate into the world.
West always makes headlines for controversial reasons, but his social media activity arguably reached new heights recently when he launched an anti-semitic rant on X.
In a series of now-deleted posts, West took an extreme stance, writing: "I AM A NAZI."
He followed up with another disturbing statement: "I LOVE HITLER NOW WHAT B*****S."
His comments sparked widespread condemnation from both fans and public figures, many of whom expressed disbelief that he had doubled down on hateful rhetoric after previously trying to rehabilitate his image.
In addition to spreading antisemitic propaganda, West targeted Tesla CEO Elon Musk, claiming that Musk had mimicked Nazi imagery during former President Donald Trump's recent inauguration rally.
"Elon stole my Nazi swag at the inauguration yoooo my guy get your own third rale," West posted.
While it's unclear what exactly West was referring to, the bizarre accusations immediately drew scrutiny, especially given Musk's previous interactions with West and his controversial stance on content moderation on X.
West's latest tirade comes just months after he publicly apologized for his past antisemitic remarks.
David Schwimmer hits back at Kanye West
Schwimmer is Jewish and he took to Instagram on Saturday to complain about how Kanye is being given such a platform to say hateful things.
"We can't stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate filled, ignorant bile... but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr. Musk," the actor said.
"Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That's twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence. His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews."
The 58-year-old actor continued, "I don't know what's worse, the fact that he identifies as a Nazi (which implies he wants to exterminate ALL marginalized communities including his own) or the fact that there is not sufficient OUTRAGE to remove and ban him from all social media at this point."
"Silence is complicity."
