Emma Heming Opens Up About Bruce's Condition
Emma Heming has been vocal about Bruce's health journey, shedding light on his symptoms and the progression of his illness. She previously revealed that one of the earliest signs of his dementia was the return of a childhood stutter.
"For Bruce, it started with language. He had a severe stutter as a child. As his language started changing, it (seemed like it) was just a part of a stutter, it was just Bruce. Never in a million years would I think it would be a form of dementia for someone so young," she explained.
Now acting as both a caregiver and an advocate for dementia awareness, Heming recently spoke candidly on the Today show about the emotional toll of caring for someone with FTD.
"What I'm learning is that dementia is hard. It's hard on the person diagnosed, and it's also hard on the family. And that is no different for Bruce, or myself, or our girls. When they say this is a family disease, it really is," she shared.
While Bruce may no longer be the action star fans from his Hollywood prime, his legacy lives on through his family's love, their shared memories, and the joy they continue to bring him.
