During a recent appearance at Radio City Music Hall, Hugh Jackman had the audience in stitches when he shared a funny anecdote about being excluded from the musical segment in the Marvel movie Deadpool & Wolverine, despite his career as a musical theater performer.
Jackman said that working on the 2024 film was an incredible experience and one of the happiest moments of his career, although he couldn't resist taking a friendly jab at co-star Ryan Reynolds for a situation that drove him crazy during filming.
The humorous comment was part of his show "From New York, With Love," where the actor surprised the audience with this unexpected mention of his friend, which generated a lot of laughter on the forum and clearly on social media when it was revealed.
"Don't tell Ryan... I don't have to be in every scene in the movie," the actor said with a laugh.
Ryan can't dance
In more words revealed by Hugh Jackman, he appreciated his friend's talent, but he certainly exposed him for his poor dancing skills.
"But Ryan is a writer. And when I look at the script, I see that the scene I'm not in is the opening sequence, which is a dance number with a *NSYNC song that Ryan does," Hugh said.
"The only scene I'm not in has dancing in it. Ryan's very talented, but dancing?"
Jackman regretted not dancing in the movie and made up for it live with his trainer, Beth Lewis, performing NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye" to an ecstatic crowd that definitely enjoyed the show.
Ryan and Hugo share an incredible friendship
The timing of this mention is impressive; Jackman knew exactly where he was going with these comments, there's no way around it.
The fact is that Reynolds' family, especially his wife, has been dealing with a lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, a situation that, according to some sources, also involves him.
The saga is far from over, but as the couple tries to deflect the situation and enjoy their day-to-day lives, there isn't much information to give us any insight into how it will end.
