Tom Holland and Zendaya, one of Hollywood's most prominent young couples, are putting their wedding plans on hold due to professional pressures and personal priorities, much to the frustration of the young stars.

Although their relationship remains strong, sources close to the pair confirm that work commitments and Holland's ongoing sobriety journey are delaying their exchanging of vows.

The 29-year-old actor, best known for portraying Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been open about his sobriety, recently launching a zero-alcohol beer brand as part of his commitment to a healthier lifestyle.

"If Tom could jet away with Zendaya and marry her in some exotic locale, he would," a source told radaronline.com. "But they are just too busy.

"Her with work, and him with his acting and zero-alcohol beer business that has become a vital part of his sobriety journey.

"But Zendaya has a vision of a wedding that includes her family and a celebration."

The couple, deeply invested in their careers, have struggled to align their schedules as the pair continue to be two of Hollywood's most in-demand names to headline movies.

"They've looked at their calendars," the insider continued. "But there's no way to fit it in this year."

Zendaya has a series of major movie and brand commitments, while Holland continues to balance acting roles with his new business ventures. So, the couple's demanding routines have made it difficult to find uninterrupted time together.

"That is one of the big challenges for a superstar couple," the source said. "Trying to line up schedules can be brutal.

"It's one of the things that gets in the way for a lot of high-profile Hollywood relationships."

"Even when they're in the same city, one of them is usually working insane hours."

Who is the villain in Spider-Man 4?

As the pair prepare for their return to the Spider-Man franchise, speculation continues to build about the next film's storyline and villains following the success of 2021's No Way Home.

According to reports stemming from a Disney Blockbuster Consumer Products presentation, an event confirmed by Film Threat's Chris Gore, several adversaries will feature in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Initial leaks named Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tombstone as part of the villain ensemble but recent rumors link Tarantula and Lady Chameleon as potential adversaries for the web-slinging hero.

The most surprising development, however, is the claim that the film's primary antagonist will be the Savage Hulk - a darker, more feral incarnation of the iconic character.

If true, this could significantly expand the narrative scope of the sequel. However, it risks leaving the series exposed to the same issue of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 (2007), by oversaturating the movie with nemeses.

It remains to be seen whether Kevin Feige can strike the right chord when it comes to crafting a formula for the world's most iconic and famous superhero.
