Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie formed, for a long time, one of the most sought-after couples in Hollywood and the world. 12 years together, two married, was the time that one of the most media love stories in the film industry lasted. However, in 2016 the marriage between them was dissolved, not legally, due to the divorce lawsuit filed by the actress.
Angelina Jolie accused Brad Pitt of choking one of their children and hitting another, as well as pouring beer and wine on them, during an argument on a private flight that year. Since then, the two actors have been embroiled in an intense legal battle that finally seems to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Angelina Jolie's lawyer says actress is 'exhausted' by process
According to James Simon, Angelina Jolie's lawyer, in People magazine, the actress and Brad Pitt are going to end the year in peace, as they have reached an agreement to finalise their divorce. "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt," he said.
"Since then, she has focused on finding peace and healing for her family. This is just one part of a long process that began eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved that this part is over," the statement from the lawyer concludes.
In this way, and as Angelina Jolie's legal team has informed, the couple, who were once one of the most glamorous couples, signed their divorce agreement on Monday, December 30. Despite the fact that they have been living separate lives for many years, they are now completely separated.
