- UK News. This is what the British Royal Family has hidden about Kate Middleton's illness
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, finally got back into working life nine days after emotionally revealing she concluded her battle against cancer, as she began work on her early years childhood project.
The 42-year-old mother-of-three announced she had completed her course of chemotherapy on September 9, almost nine months on from her diagnosis following surgery at The London Clinic in January 2024.
And the future Queen Consort of the United Kingdom is wasting no time getting back into things as she was spotted heading into Windsor Castle to discuss the plan with her Centre for Early Childhood staff, as per The Telegraph.
According to the Royal Family's official website, the project focuses on how early childhood is a "root cause of today's hardest social challenges such as addiction, family breakdown, poor mental health, suicide and homelessness."
Middleton returns to public life
Middleton had previously took baby steps into re-entering public life, with the most high-profile appearance coming at the Wimbledon Championships as Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in the final of the tennis contest on July 14.
It followed an initial appearance at the Trooping the Colour ceremony in June, and her next public showing looms on the horizon with the Princess tipped to be at the Remembrance Day Service on November 10.
"As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment," Middleton said in an emotional video, announcing the end of her battle against cancer. "The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family.
"Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.
"With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything."
Middleton, Princess of Wales, is mother to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis who are second, third and fourth in line to the British throne respectively. Their father, Prince William, is ahead of them whilst King Charles III currently sits the throne.
