Follow the selection process
Sacramento County in the state of California is in the process of selecting applicants for the program known as Sacramento Family First (FFESP), which provides a monthly assistance of $725 dollars to the neediest families.
Once eligibility has been determined, the Sacramento County government will proceed to define the beneficiaries who participated in the selection process that ended on Sunday, April 27 at midnight. From then on, it will be up to chance to define who will benefit from this state grant, which will begin to be disbursed next June.
The months of April and May will be key to defining the citizens who will receive the aid, and for this purpose FFESP officials will make a random selection among the group of eligible applicants, the result of which will be announced on the website ffesp.org and by postal service to each of those selected.
What is the FFESP?
The FFESP is primarily funded by the State Block Grant awarded by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) to DCFAS and some private funds. "CDSS specifically identified the goals of reducing abuse and neglect, decreasing entry into foster care, and improving economic and other concrete resources for families (...) and is targeted to legal guardians caring for children ages 0-5 within the most needy families".
When will the first payment be made?
According to information from the program's official website, "Enrolled participants will receive $725 per month for 12 months (1 year). The first payment is expected to be issued on June 15, 2025, and the last on July 15, 2026".
