It was Tom Homan, the member in charge of Trump's immigration and border security policies, who acknowledged this in an interview with Fox News

"There is going to be a big raid across the country. Chicago is just one of many places. We have 24 offices across the country. On Tuesday, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) will finally go out and do its job. We are going to take the handcuffs off ICE and let them arrest criminal aliens, that's what's going to happen," Homan explained in his interview about the operation.

According to The New York Times, this operation would last until the following Monday, that is, six days of identifications and deportations by security through what will be called "Operation Safeguard".

ICE has stated that they plan to send 150 agents to carry out the raids. Tom Homan said in the interview that ICE is "going to enforce immigration law unapologetically" leaving a direct message to those who are in an irregular situation: "If you are in the country illegally, you have a problem".

Tom Homan was already at the head of ICE in Donald Trump's first term, and in one of the summer rallies, he made clear his position on this issue, sending a message to Joe Biden: "I have a message for the millions of illegal aliens that Joe Biden has released into our country in violation of federal law: you better start packing now," the former police officer commented.
