The oceans contain a large number of creatures, some of which are very difficult for humans to see and it may even be several years before they can be seen since their last sighting. In addition, they can surprise people and appear at a time when they are not being sought.

This is exactly what happened to a group of students and researchers who were conducting a study, which is very recurrent, on dolphins around the coastal zone of North Carolina, as confirmed by the university's own workers.

However, to everyone's surprise, on April 19 they observed a marine species that had not been seen for a long time. It was a humpback whale. According to Brunswick Community College officials in a statement on May 1, the excursion became a "once-in-a-lifetime experience."

In addition, Dean Kim Jones confirmed what the surprising moment was like when they were able to visualize the humpback whale: "There was so much life in the area: bait fish, diving birds, dozens of dolphins and then we saw it."
