The much-anticipated list of starters for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game was announced on Wednesday.
Set to take place on July 16 at Globe Life Field, the Midsummer Classic will showcase top talent from both the American League and National League, with the game airing at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
Aaron Judge and Bryce Harper dominate fan votes
The fan vote results, revealed Wednesday on ESPN, confirmed which players will take the field.
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge and Phillies star Bryce Harper, who were the leading vote-getters in Phase 1, were ed by a mix of seasoned superstars and first-time All-Stars.
Notable names like Shohei Ohtani and rising talents such as Gunnar Henderson were among those elected.
Representation across teams is broad this year, with ten different franchises featured in the starting lineups.
The Phillies lead with three starters, followed by the Yankees, Orioles, Astros, Guardians, Brewers, and Padres with two each.
The Blue Jays, Dodgers, and D-backs each have one starter. Impressively, eight of the selected starters are making their All-Star debut.
This year's All-Star Game holds historical significance, being the first hosted by the defending World Series champions since 1934.
Bruce Bochy of the Rangers will manage the American League team, while Torey Lovullo of the Diamondbacks will helm the National League side.
Shohei Ohtani, now with the Dodgers, secured his fourth consecutive All-Star starter spot as the National League's designated hitter.
Aaron Judge and Juan Soto of the Yankees, both familiar faces in the All-Star roster, will the American League outfield.
Judge is celebrating his sixth selection, while this marks Soto's fourth.
Jose Altuve stands out among the starters with his ninth All-Star selection, the most of any player in this group.
The first-time All-Stars are Gunnar Henderson, Alec Bohm, Jurickson Profar, and Steven Kwan, who have all earned their inaugural starting positions.
The full 2024 All-Star rosters, including pitchers and reserve position players, will be unveiled on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
