The NL Divisional Series had the Arizona Diamondbacks facing the Los Angeles Dodgers who had a terrible start since the beginning of the game where the seasoned Clayton Kershaw was bested by the Arizonian roster including Corbin Carroll, Gabriel Moreno, and Tommy Pham.

Kershaw received a standing ovation when he entered the field, however, those claps were completely silenced as Clayton was off his game, giving away 6 runs just in the first inning. Making it the first time that the three-time Cy Young Award would leave after only one inning. The Dodgers' manager Dave Roberts planned for Kershaw to pitch about 85 times, however, the massive offensive from the Diamondbacks changed his plans.

Meanwhile, Merrill Kelly had a great performance as he allowed only three hits in the whole 6 innings in which he was on the mound. Arizona's manager called him to the dugout in the 6th, while they were still 6-0.

The Diamondbacks turn the claps for Clayton Kershaw into complete silence and eventually, he was replaced by Emmet Sheehan who entered the mound to help the Dodgers secure the two remaining outs.

Meanwhile, Alek Thomas surprised everyone at Dodgers Stadium when he had the longest inning in MLB Playoff history with 14 pitches. Thomas finally connected a 104-mph swing and hit the ball that traveled 427 ft, making the score 10-0 in favor of the visiting team.

According to Sarah Langs from MLB Thomas broke a record that was established back in 1988 when it was initially measured; the record was not only an MLB record but a franchise record as well.

Almost at the finish line, the Dodgers tried to wake up and scored two runs to end the game 11-2.
