The Houston Astros are once again expected to make it to the World Series and win it all. While having one of the best offenses and a pitching rotation in all of MLB,however, they could add a Cy Young quality arm to their starting staff now that Verlander is still in the injury list.

Blake Snell's asking price for his contract is about $30 Million

According to Jon Heyman of The New York Post, Blake Snell is on the Astros' radar, along with other teams, but Texas is seen as the most serious contender for the reigning National League Cy Young-winning left-hander.

With less than two weeks to go before the regular season begins in Houston, The Athletic's Chandler Rome spoke with the team's GM and mentioned that indeed 'as long as Snell is on the market they are going to look at his chances' but that at the moment, 'there is nothing new'.

Astros are reportedly negotiating with Snell

That was last Thursday, and now Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, in conjunction with Rome, is reportedly in serious negotiations with the left-hander, who is seeking a contract similar to Matt Chapman's with the Giants and Cody Bellinger's with the Cubs, a short-term, high annual salary.

All three are represented by famed agent Scott Boras, who specifically this offseason has had a lot of trouble finding gs for his clients, especially with Snell, who remains without a team.

Snell would be seeking an average annual salary of about $30 million but with doubts as to whether Astros owner Jim Crane would be willing to spend that kind of money. Other teams being linked to Snell are the Yankees and Angels.
