Kansas City Royals will be without 10 players against Toronto Blue Jays for not being vaccinated against COVID-19

The Kansas City Royals will visit the Toronto Blue Jays, but in order to cross the border into Canada, COVID vaccination certification is required and 10 Royals players are not inoculated.

The players who will not participate in the will be: it will affect outfielder Andrew Benintendi, utilityman Whit Merrifield, catcher MJ Melendez, first baseman/outfielder Hunter Dozier, righty Brad Keller, righty Brady Singer, center fielder Michael A. Taylor, outfielder Kyle Isbel, reliever Dylan Coleman and catcher Cam Gallagher.

Kansas City will call up reinforcements from its AAA and AA s to round out the major league roster. The Royals' series at Toronto begins Thursday.

Prior to Kansas City, the most players a team had lost in Toronto was four, and 25 total players had landed on the restricted list because they were unvaccinated.

The group was placed on the restricted list, resulting in a loss of salary and compensation time for the four games missed.
