- Los Angeles Angels. Ohtani among Baseball Digest's 80 MLB icons in last 80 years
- MLB All Star Game. AL MVP in pitching and hitting Shohei Ohtani s Dodgers' Kershaw on this year's All-Star Game
It has been quite a couple of seasons for the great pitcher and All-Star opener Shohei Ohtani, now that he is breaking records and taking names, just these past few days he has been the topic of discussion on many news outlets, weather because of his induction to this year's All-Star team for the American League, or the introduction to Baseball Digests' 80 icons, he's on top, but what does this mean for his career?
Openings and other interested teams
Some teams have been in the shadows trying to lure Oshani's talent to their franchise but there hasn't been any confirmation of who those teams are. This is something normal in the game, as soon as a player starts delivering, he immediately grabs the attention of bigger teams wanting that attention and scoring abilities to go to their city, however there is no comment yet on if he is even considering moving to a team, since the Angels have been ive and his team loves the Japanese icon.
He is starting pitcher for the second consecutive year
Ohtani was recently interviewed about this year's MLB All-Star Game and what it means for him and his career. "I mean, as a starting pitcher, it is a special spot to start in the All-Star Game," Ohtani said through his interpreter. "That's something that I shoot for and I would like to do, but I'm sure there's other pitchers that have better numbers than me at this point. I tried my best to try to match up with them tonight and ultimately it's up to Dusty Baker."
The Two-way player may be in the Home Run Derby
"I haven't really discussed how I'm going to be used in the game with anyone. I don't really have an answer," Ohtani said. "It's really gonna depend on how many innings I pitch or how many at-bats I'm gonna get. If it is going to be too much, then I've got to balance at this point."
