Aaron Judge must be frustrated watching Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani, currently a designated hitter, relentlessly hitting home runs in the 2025 MLB season, where the Dodgers are the favorites to repeat as World Series champions.
Ohtani is unstoppable
Like a true superhero, the Dodgers' future starting pitcher became the first player to reach 20 home runs in 2025, leading the head-to-head battle with Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees and Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Japanese star hit his 20th home run against Tanner Bibee during the series against the Cleveland Guardians.
In the fourth inning, after seeing a cutter on the first pitch, Ohtani connected, sending the ball at 104.5 MPH over 362 feet. It wasn't his most spectacular home run, but Statcast estimates it would have cleared the fence in 21 of 30 MLB ballparks.
Ohtani now leads Aaron Judge (Yankees) and Kyle Schwarber (Phillies), who each have 18 home runs.
Last season, Ohtani hit 54 home runs to lead the National League, achieving a historic 50 HR/50 stolen base season, a first in MLB history.
With this latest blast, Ohtani boasts a .297/.395/.660 slash line in 2025 at age 30. This dominant production makes him a strong contender for his third consecutive MVP award.
