New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has given an update regarding the All-Star outfielder Aaron Judge as he has been out of action for several weeks after crashing into the fence at Dodger Stadium, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone, said that his return is a long time coming.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed that 'Judge' received another plasma injection in the sprained right toe and is still in pain.

"They hit the other ligament that was still causing him some pain," Boone said prior to the Yankees series against Red Sox, but he is optimistic he believes he is "doing better" after receiving another PRP injection in a different ligament to help speed his recovery.

Judge stubbed his toe on his right foot when he ran full speed after a ball and crashed into the outfield fence last June 3, in a game in which the Yankees beat the Dodgers 6-3.

Boone hopeful about Aaron Judge

Boone wouldn't commit to giving a return date for Judge, though he's optimistic he can have him ready before the All-Star Game, it may also take longer, but he's confident that with the latest treatment, he'll respond and his recovery will be accelerated.

"I think I could be back in a week, I think I could be back in four. I don't know. We've got to get to a point where we start moving the ball from a physical activity and baseball standpoint. Hopefully, the latest PRP is part of speeding up that process," Boone said.

As for possible surgery, Boone was again cautious, as according to his information the ligament should heal over time, as well as reiterating his confidence in the treatment.

"It's my understanding that these ligaments should heal over time. Anytime you sprain or tear ligaments, it takes time to heal that, PRP's are expected to speed up that process. Hopefully it will continue to move in the right direction. I feel like he was, but that other part of the t or on the toe that was still causing him some problems after the first PRP," Boone said.
