The war of words between Aaron Judge and Juan Soto had another episode, after the Dominican ed that last year with the Yankees he had the best hitter in baseball behind him. This was a statement that did not sit well with the new captain of Team USA heading into the World Baseball Classic, who dismissed the Dominican's opinion.

The former partners and now rivals for New York supremacy have a complicated relationship, after Soto turned his back on the Bronx Bombers to sign with the Mets on a 15-year, $765 million deal.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Soto itted that he felt different in the lineup in Queens, in a comment in which he hinted that he somehow missed Aaron Judge.

"I had the best hitter in baseball behind me. They attacked me more and threw me more in the strike zone, I received fewer intentional walks and things like that. Last year they pitched me differently," Soto told the New York Post.

Aaron Judge praises Pete Alonso's season

Aaron Judge's response to Juan Soto was blunt and to the point, in a clear message that he is focused on baseball and his former teammate's praise is easily avoided, true to his style to avoid controversy.

"I'm not going to beat around the bush. He's got one of the best hitters in baseball behind him: Alonso," Judge said of Juan Soto's latest compliment.

But "The Judge" did not stop there, he also acknowledged that he is aware of his city rivals and had more words to praise the level of Pete Alonso with the Mets in the first part of the season.

"It's been fun to watch him hit, he's close to .400. He's driving the ball all over the field, driving hitters in," Judge said of Alonso, who in 59 at-bats has a .356 average, with five home runs and 20 RBIs.
