The ATP warn Kyrgios: 16 week-ban and fine if he offends again within six months

Tennis They've taken a stance

On the same day that Nick Kyrgios announced that his Asian tour was over due to injury, the ATP confirmed that they will suspend the Australian for 16 weeks without compensation if he has another incident of unsportsmanlike behaviour in the next six months.

The player is also set to receive a 25,000 US dollar fine on top of his suspension should he commit another offence in his six-month probation.

These sanctions have been decided after an investigation into his second-round match at the ATP Masters 1000 even in Cincinnati, wherein he was fined 113,000 US dollars.

The investigation found a pattern of abuse towards officials and/or spectators.

Never far from controversy, Kyrgios previously spat at a referee and threw a chair in anger before being disqualified in Rome.

The Australian has also defaced the shirt of a fan that had Novak Djokovic's name on its front, as well as leaving the premises after defeats without fulfilling his media commitments.
