Simone Biles scared to death when confronted by a lion on her honeymoon safari with Jonathan Owens: "I almost shit myself"

Simone Biles and her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, finally embarked on their long-awaited honeymoon, two years after tying the knot.

The couple jetted off to South Africa for an unforgettable adventure, but one moment, in particular, left the Olympic champion absolutely terrified.

Very daring kiss! Jonathan Owen dares with a sensual kiss that makes Simone Biles blush in an airplane

A Wild Welcome in South Africa

Biles took to Instagram on Sunday, Feb. 16, to share glimpses of their luxurious getaway.

She posted photos of herself and Owens, surrounded by an impressive collection of suitcases before boarding their flight. Once they landed, the pair toasted with champagne, celebrating the start of their honeymoon in style.

"Made it to South Africa," Biles wrote on an Instagram story, showcasing their lavish hotel suite.

The next day, the couple kicked off their honeymoon activities with a safari game drive-an open-air tour through a wildlife reserve. As they took in the breathtaking landscapes, they spotted giraffes, elephants, and leopards. But it was a close encounter with a lion that left Biles shaken.

"Not gonna lie, I almost s- myself," Biles wrote in the caption of a video, showing a massive lion prowling just inches away from their vehicle.

Despite the scare, Biles and Owens continued to enjoy their safari experience, capturing stunning moments with the wildlife and embracing the beauty of nature.

A Love Story That Almost Didn't Happen

Biles and Owens' relationship has been a whirlwind since they first met in 2020. The couple got engaged in February 2022 before tying the knot in a courthouse ceremony in Houston in April 2023.

Shortly after, they hosted a grand wedding celebration in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, surrounded by family and friends.

Interestingly, Owens itted in a 2021 interview with Texas Monthly that he had no idea who Biles was when they first connected.

"I just hadn't heard of her, and when I told her that, that's one of the things she liked," Owens shared.

Since their wedding, the couple has been balancing their demanding careers. Owens recently signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears, while Biles made history at the Paris Olympics, further cementing her status as the greatest gymnast of all time.

Although their schedules have been hectic, their honeymoon offered a chance to unwind-except, of course, for that unexpected lion encounter.
