- NFL. Tom Brady follows Las Vegas Raiders investment with move into obscure sport
- NCAA. When will Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter get drafted to the NFL?
Almost overnight, Shedeur Sanders became a household name in the United States. The Colorado Buffaloes quarterback, a transfer from Jackson State University and the son of new head coach Deion Sanders, has become a true sensation in American sports after he led underdog Colorado to a 45-42 win over TCU, which played in last season's national championship game.
Sanders' performance -- in which he threw for over 500 yards -- even attracted the attention of Tom Brady, who texted three simple words to the young quarterback following the game.
"Don't be satisfied"
According to Sanders himself, Brady told the 21-year-old that he shouldn't settle or be satisfied after such an explosive performance -- he should keep pushing the envelope as Colorado eyes a successful first season under Coach Prime.
"Working with Tom, it was just talking to him and understanding how to improve each week," Sanders told the media. "He texted me after the game 'don't be satisfied.' It was cool hearing from him, knowing he's still watching."
Sanders' standout Saturday
It's safe to say that Brady, now a part-owner of the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders, couldn't help but hear about Sanders' exploits against TCU. In his first Division I football game, Shedeur completed 38 of his 47 attempts for 510 yards and four touchdowns -- including the go-ahead strike to Dylan Edwards in the fourth quarter.
Sanders and two-way teammate Travis Hunter are emerging as the early stars of this college football season, and motivation should continue to flow as the Buffaloes entered the top 25 poll this week.
