Gage Goldberg, the son of entertainment icon Bill Goldberg, has made a significant decision regarding his athletic and academic future. The young athlete announced his commitment to the University of Colorado, where he will their football program. This announcement, made on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), marks a pivotal moment in Goldberg's burgeoning sports career.

"I am honored to announce that I am committing to the University of Colorado to continue my football and academic career," Goldberg expressed in his announcement.

Hailing from Boerne Champion High School in Texas, Gage Goldberg is a standout middle linebacker, measuring at 6 feet tall and weighing 205 pounds. His athletic prowess is not limited to the gridiron; he is also an accomplished baseball player. Goldberg's senior year in football was particularly impressive, where he racked up 154 total tackles, 7.5 of which were for a loss, along with a host of other significant defensive contributions, including eight hurries, four forced fumbles, one sack, a blocked field goal, and a forced safety.

Goldberg's decision to Colorado was influenced heavily by the university's coaching staff, particularly the head coach, who had been a teammate of his father during their time with the Atlanta Falcons in the early 90s. "Colorado has an amazing coaching staff and obviously a great head coach that will help me excel in every way to become a better football player, and eventually to get me to the next level," Goldberg told BuffsBeat.

Deion and Colorado have been racking up recruits

During the recruitment process, Goldberg sought advice from his father, WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg. His father's experiences from his own commitment to Georgia in the late 1980s provided a backdrop for guidance. Ultimately, Goldberg chose Colorado over other offers, including one from Alabama, citing a strong personal connection to the program. "My dad's advice was go to the program that stands out to you the most and the one you know that you will love. I already know at this moment that I will love Colorado and it will also be great to be learning from one of my dad's best friends ever," Goldberg shared.

With Gage Goldberg's commitment, Colorado's 2024 recruiting class continues to grow stronger. He becomes the 29th player to commit to a class that is currently ranked 21st overall by 247Sports and is the 12th addition to the Buffaloes' defense for the year. His decision not only reflects his personal aspirations and respect for his father's guidance but also signifies a promising future for the University of Colorado's football program.
