Iowa Hawkeyes head coach Lisa Bluder itted on Friday that she has had to give Caitlin Clark technical fouls during practice in the past to help her work on composure.
Clark, 22, is often criticized for her outburts directed at officials and even teammates, but Bluder's strategy has seemingly paid dividends because the Hawkeyes guard is free of technical fouls so far during March Madness.
"I've had to call technicals on her in practice," Bluder said. "The officials that we're bringing in sometimes don't want to call technicals on us so I'll just do it from the bench because I do feel like we have to try to help her maintain her composure at times and if they're not going to do it, I will."
Bluder, 62, confirmed that she hasn't had to call a technical foul on Clark during practice in quite some time, but clearly has the move in her back pocket.
Lisa Bluder preparing for deep push
Clark is focused on playing her final NCAA Tournament before heading to the WNBA and already having to deal with a ton of distractions.
Bluder, however, is preparing for another deep push into March Madness and hopefully win the national title after losing the final last year.
Clark, meanwhile, recently responded to Ice Cube's $5 million offer to play in his Big3 league.
