DJ Burns has dropped a huge amount of weight in preparation for the 2024 NBA Draft as the NC State star looks to secure his future in the sport.
The motivation of making it as a professional basketball player is enough to get player into shape and Burns has taken comments on board.
Reports suggested that scouts were unsure on whether to draft him due to his weight, as the 6ft 9in star tipped the scale at 275lbs.
But Shams Charania reported that Burns has lost 45 pounds in preparation for the 2024 NBA Draft.
"DJ Burns told me he has lost 45 pounds in the last six and a half weeks..." he said.
"He told me no Ozempic; he said he's been doing workouts 4 days a week, at 5am."
A photo of Burns before and after his transformation was posted on social media by NBA Central, showing the incredible transformation he had undergone in the space of a month and a half.
Fans loved Burns' new look and commented about it online, with one commenting: "What a stud"
"My guy was tired of every single person he talked to during the tournament commenting on his weight"
Who will pick DJ Burns in the 2024 NBA Draft?
DJ Burns attended Winthrop University for his first three college seasons before transferring to North Carolina State. In his final season, Burns averaged 12.9 points, four rebounds, and 2.9 assists.
Burns was the standout player during NC State's March Madness run and deservedly picked up the 2024 ACC Tournament MVP award for his efforts.
He played a key role in helping guide the Wolfpack to the Final Four - their first appearance since 1983 - and now he could be set for a bright future in the professional game.
However, most NBA mock drafts, including Kyle Irving's two-round mock draft, project Burns to go undrafted in June, meaning he could be left without a team.
