Paige Bueckers is many things -- a phenom, a WNBA star in the making, a fun-loving teammate who will always her own. But the Connecticut Huskies guard recently unveiled a new talent that has caught many by surprise.

By this time next year, Bueckers will be playing in the WNBA, probably after being picked first overall in the 2025 draft. The UConn star has become more visible at WNBA games this season as she prepares for her final college season and the next phase of her career. And like a certain #1 pick before her, Bueckers is already thrilling WNBA crowds before playing a single minute of pro basketball.

Bueckers' hidden talent: A cannon for an arm

During a game between the Chicago Sky and the Seattle Storm on Sunday, Bueckers appeared at Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena in of her former teammate Nika Muhl. During a break in play, Bueckers was convinced to participate in a T-shirt toss -- and she proceeded to launch a shirt deep into the lower bowl.

The sequence immediately brought to mind Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum's viral T-shirt toss moment in 2017. Shortly after she was taken #1 overall by the San Antonio Silver Stars (who moved to Las Vegas the following year), Plum launched multiple shirts into the crowd after being invited to a Spurs playoff game -- one even landed in the upper deck at Frost Bank Center.

Whether Bueckers eventually mirrors two-time WNBA champion Plum's success in the pros remains to be seen, but the two guards are already drawing comparisons to one another for this wholly-unexpected reason -- showing that history really can repeat itself.
