- NCAA. Shedeur Sanders stuns fans with record-breaking NIL announcement
- NCAA. Deion Sanders' powerful speech preps Colorado players for emotional season as they aim to make playoffs
The college football season is just over 20 days away, with the first games kicking off on Saturday, August 24. One of the most talked-about teams, if not the most, is the Colorado Buffaloes, led by coach Deion Sanders and his sons Shedeur and Shilo. They start their season at home on Thursday, August 29, against North Dakota State.
Shedeur's Top College Teams
In the latest and first episode of the "2Legendary" podcast, quarterback Shedeur Sanders sat down with fellow college football quarterbacksCameron Ward, Darrell Colbert Jr., and Kyron Drones. During the podcast, Shedeur revealed his top three teams heading into the season. Although he could have placed Colorado at the top, his choices were quite surprising.
Sanders picked the Buffaloes as No. 2 for obvious reasons but placed Miami at No. 3, seeking a rematch with Cameron Ward, who is part of this podcast episode, in the College Football Playoffs if they both get in. Sanders and Ward previously faced off when Ward was still with the Washington State Cougars; he's now with the Miami Hurricanes. Sanders didn't have the best luck in that game, as the Ward and the Cougars dominated the Buffaloes 52-17.
Choosing Georgia as his No. 1 team, with quarterback Carson Beck, whose girlfriend is well-known in the NCAA world, demonstrates Sanders' focus. He recognizes that while his team aims to make the playoffs, they are not on the same level as Georgia, Ohio State, or Oregon, who are favorites to go far this season. Shedeur, however, will have dual-threat Travis Hunter all over the field, his brother Shilo in the defense, and his father Deion coaching from the sidelines, all striving to make a mark in the newly expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.
Expectations for Colorado
With the season about to start, all eyes will be on how Colorado and especially Shedeur perform. He is projected to be one of the top five picks in the next NFL Draft. If they have an outstanding season, there might even be talk of Coach Deion Sanders moving to a more prestigious university or possibly an NFL team as a coordinator.
The Buffaloes are entering the season with high expectations and the spotlight firmly on them. With Shedeur's talent and Deion Sanders' leadership, they aim to break into the upper echelons of college football. The revamped playoff system provides a more accessible path for underdog teams, adding to the excitement and anticipation.
