Pat McAfee is one of the most outlandish personalities on ESPN; Nick Saban is one of the most no-nonsense coaches that college football has ever seen. The difference between the two could be seen in the discomfort written all over Saban's face as he adjusted to his new job on the ESPN College GameDay desk.

"I never knew any of this. I never experienced any of this," the legendary Alabama coach said at the end of the show, hosted live at Texas A&M for Week 1.
Saban's fit with the crew was one of the big questions heading into Week 1 for ESPN's marquee college football countdown show, which is as many parts entertainment as analysis. Social media was split down the middle after seeing the legendary coach's debut.
He retained his blunt, critical style. In a moment reminiscent of McAfee's past profanity, Saban was caught cursing when discussing Michigan's roster being worth $20 million. The retired Crimson Tide coach also gave disapproving looks to Pat's barking during their first show together last week in Dublin, and again this week in the viral clip posted by ESPN showing McAfee dancing during a commercial break.

However, a surprise moment at the end of the show began to shift the public opinion on the stern old ball coach. McAfee had torn his shirt off during an animated pick for the featured game, and as he gave Saban a sweaty hug, the 72-year-old flashed a coy smile that revealed his true feelings about College GameDay.
"I've never been to anything like this. This is so much fun!"
