It hasn't been the prettiest start to the season for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. After struggling to get past North Dakota State in their home opener, Colorado got walloped by Nebraska in Week 2 against rival head coach Matt Rhule.
This week, Sanders will be going up against another coach who talked some trash last season, just like Rhule. Before taking on Colorado State in 2023, CSU head coach Jay Norvell criticized Sanders for wearing sunglasses and hats indoors. That set up a heated game between the schools, which gave us one of the more thrilling games of the season. The Buffaloes ended up winning 43-35.
But after the game ended, Norvell's wife, Kim, stoked the flames again. She spoke ill of Shedeur Sanders, proclaiming that he "acted like a B" after the game ended.
Deion Sanders forgives the Norvell family for comments
Since then, everyone involved has had a lot of time to think over everything that happened. But for Deion, there are no hard feelings, especially after he met Kim Norvell in person.
I had the honor and the pleasure at the Big 12 meetings to meet his wife. She's delightful... I'm not looking for an apology, I just met her, she was delightful. I don't judge people based off what they say when they're emotional. My heart ain't built like that.
Sanders was toeing the line of sarcasm and forgiveness, but he's likely put the whole thing in the rearview mirror. He did the same before facing Rhule last week.
