- NCAA. Nick Saban's wild interuption of Pat McAfee has fans and crew in shock before the Alabama vs Georgia game
- NCAA. More trouble for Deion Sanders: Colorado program gets lambasted for tone-deaf post about Florida
One of the most entertaining moments of the weekend, aside from NFL games, are Saturday mornings leading up to the NCAAF matchups. Shows like ESPN's"College GameDay" with Pat McAfee and Fox's "Big Noon Kickoff" are packed with star guests, challenges, and games with the fans, mostly students from the universities hosting the show each week. This past weekend, College GameDay was in Tuscaloosa for the Alabama vs Georgia game, while Big Noon traveled to Orlando for the historic first-ever game between the UCF Knights and the Colorado Buffaloes, led by Deion Sanders.
DJ Khaled's Epic Crowd Surfing
Orlando turned into a full-on party ahead of the UCF vs Colorado game, and DJ Khaled, the record producer, songwriter, and actor, took things up a notch by jumping into the crowd and crowd surfing. Khaled's antics set off a wild atmosphere that marked Big Noon Kickoff'slargest crowd in its five-year history. The show also featured rapper Fat Joe, who performed alongside Khaled in front of the massive crowd. Given what Florida has been going through with Hurricane Helene, it was a great way to bring some joy to the state.
For me there are two reasons this was the largest crowd the program has ever seen. First, maybe the students knew DJ Khaled and Fat Joe were performing. Second, wherever Deion Sanders'Colorado Buffaloes go, the stadium fills up. Before the season began, Sanders' son, Shedeur, boldly declared, "We are everybody's Super Bowl." At the time, it seemed arrogant, especially given Colorado's 4-8 record last year, but in their four games this season, they've consistently drawn huge crowds. With Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter leading Colorado's offense, every game is a guaranteed show.
Colorado vs UCF Preview
Last weekend, Colorado's victory with Shedeur Sanders' last-minute Hail Mary to LaJohntay Wester was nothing short of epic and highlighted Sanders' outstanding performance. He finished with 341 ing yards, two ing touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown. All eyes are also on Heisman contender Travis Hunter, the dual-threat player who forced a game-saving fumble at the goal line against Baylor. Hunter's stats are astonishing: 37 receptions, 472 yards, 5 touchdowns on offense, and 14 tackles with one interception on defense-simply out of this world.
The UCF Knights come into Week 5 on a winning streak with a perfect 3-0 record and an extra week of preparation after their heart-stopping 35-34 win over TCU. Quarterback KJ Jefferson was key to that victory, completing 13 of 22 es for 230 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Knights to a hard-fought win against the Horned Frogs. This game is expected to be tightly contested, with Colorado possibly at a disadvantage after traveling across the country and coming off an overtime game.
